I want to pay my respects to the 'Father of Mindfulness', Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh, who passed away peacefully on 22nd January, 2022.
Known as 'Thay' (meaning 'teacher') to so many of his followers and fellow monastics, he has been a great source of inspiration to me.
I have been lucky enough to have visited Plum Village in France, where he lived for decades. Master Owl was partly inspired by Thay, so his legacy lives on in many ways. Plum Village run family retreats and this work of bringing mindfulness to children is a practice I will continue in my writing and school visits.
If you have not seen the wonderful film 'Walk with me' please watch it. Taking 3 years to make, it's a mindful viewing window on Thay, Plum Village and the work of the monastics.
Ironically, I just posted a set of Master Owl books to Plum Village to be shared by the children who visit there.
Thank you Thay for showing us that peace is always the way. Thank you for reminding us that we are always Home in the present moment.
Enjoy your next adventures.
Much love and gratitude from me.
